I started working at night only with black paint. The canvas board was already in this mess from old uses with the black lines on the sides, the black box at bottom left and everything. I just worked on top of all - what a pleasure, I love used canvasses!

Funny thing, I woke up the next day to find out that the canvas board has yellow (I couldn't see it at all the last night with the low light)!! Hmm not my favourite colour of all but I thought ok it looks good for now, but no more surprises please xx

Not much of a work in a progress to be honest :) I found the unfinished pics in my scanner’s folder and I thought it would be cool to share them … with my secret for water based paints.

Many of you already know (especially those who follow my work from the begging) that I love working with acrylics, gouache and watercolours. Not a few times I have recommend to many of you to try this way – so here are some tips!

✫ I always use the acrylics for base and if I use gouache it’s going to be on top of it (or mixed with the acrylic, but carefully – you don’t want to make a hole in your canvas)!!

✫ I use watercolours on top of all, after everything is dry well. I do it this way because watercolours give me the incredible ability to colourize anything I want in any scale I want.

☓ Of course that’s something very dangerous and it could be easily turned out a disaster!? Yes ☓

Firsty, you have to be sure that your canvas is dry dry dry from acrylics / gouache!! Not too dry paints means a hole in whatever place you try to paint with watercolours = disaster with no turning back.

Secondly, you have to be sure that your brush hasn’t got too much water on it. Put the brush into the water and then into the watercolour and rub it in a towel before your canvas. You can skip this step if you think you can control it, but if it’s your first time, go straight to the towel!

And then it’s up to you. Start with smooth moves and ‘hit’ the parts you want to colourize (you’ll find your rhythm soon), until you get what you want. After that, I use ONLY white and black acrylics (if it’s necessary) to finish the painting.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this one. It just something that I cannot explain, it's something in her face... I'm sunk into her. She also reminds me of ... Eugenia (dear little doll). Anyway, we wont have big changes here... I promise! I just want to highlight her half right face, shoulders and chest... and some brushes there and there... make green colour more green a bit more! I also have to paint the black frame again cause it's not oil. I used acrylic paint to make the frame black, just for quick and clean ;)

Hi, Hope everyone's well and creative :)
I started working in this painting in July 22 and I've took pics in every step ... I wanted from the start to share this process with you. It's my 3rd oil painting so things are not comfortable as acrylics and watercolours. I still have to learn things while I enjoy painting.

First pic above (makes me smile every time) .. this is how I started... and many things needed to be correct ... I worked with the bottom of the carousel and made the road surface smooth... then I had the idea to make the carousel standing on the sea... but first of all, I changed the colour tone of the whole painting (using very diluted oil).

After finishing the tooth-paste-looking sea I start thinking about horses and children ... hm not sure yet how many I will do. In the end I decided to make one horse with a rider. Here you see first the shape I did with white and then the first colours.

.. and suddenly all this dull purple cold tone seems to be so useless and boring .. I started adding pink lines in the bars (now the bars have this tooth paste looking again) .. pink to the roof - just for starters and pink in the sea. I also made the rider.

I woke up the morning to scream "OMG SO much pink"!!!!!!!!!!! ... After the shock I started thinking that the roof is the worse part of all the painting - seriously - and some pinks are just too much pink (the pinks were actually glowing in the light). I started working again, this time I used only white oil to smooth and limit the pink tone. Then I did some more details in the horsie and the rider ... these two are really small and the painting has such texture and rough surface .. it's amazingly hard to make it work.

This is the final stage, but it's not done yet. I haven't sign yet (1) and (2) I want to do some touches there and there ... and then it's the torture waiting of drying (oh I hate that)!

Me and Zombie Rust will be participating with some super-limited prints in WhyNotWausau Festival. It’s the first annual WhyNotWausau? International Art Exchange, a first-of-its-kind music/arts/outdoor festival. There will be a gallery show and much music from BlueHeels, Ryan Flannery & the Night Owls, Steez, .357StringBand, The Daredevil Christopher Wright, Communist Daughter, Farewell Milwaukee, Absinthe & the Dirty Floors and Trapper Schoepp & the Shades.

We’re both extremely excited, it will be open in less then 3 days! They are tickets available to order from the site if you want to be there – unfortunately we can’t be there in person but we have arranged many photos :D

The creator died before he could finish his hands instead, the creation is left with metal scissors for hands. He has always lived alone, until a kind lady called Peg discovers him and welcomes Edward into her home. At first, everyone welcomes him into the community, but soon things begin to take a change for the worse…

Edward Scissorhands (1990) is a Tim Burton film starring Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder and Vincent Price (as the Inventor) in his last significant film work.

Captain Spaulding is a fictional character created by Rob Zombie and portrayed by Sid Haig in the films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects

Captain Spaulding was born on April 13, 1918 in Ruggsville, Texas with the name Johnny Lee Johns. He spent a small part of his childhood in the Ruggsville County home for orphaned boys until being adopted by a black family. Johnny Lee would soon grow very close to his adoptive brother Charlie. Johnny Lee developed an interest in sideshow deformities and violent crime photography, foreshadowing his Captain Spaulding persona. He began his murder spree as Mr. Ding Dong a Bo-Bo using his clown character’s name. Charlie would refer to him as Cutter after Johnny Lee stabbed a man to death, which he would take as his name. Around the fall of 1947, Cutter met Mother Firefly, who at the time took the alias Eve Wilson. She already had two children of her own, Rufus and Tiny. Cutter lived with Eve Wilson, even raising their daughter Vera Ellen together. During the summer of 1965, Otis B. Driftwood, wandered into Ruggsville County. He and Otis quickly became close companions and rivals. The two would often fight for control of the family. Otis was asked to live with the family; whom Otis called The Fireflys and it was he who also nicknamed Cutter, Captain Spaulding.
